ALLIS TISSUE FORCEPS

Allis tissue forceps

Description :

Made up of stainless steel and has 6 parts :

  1.  Finger Ring
  2. Ratchet
  3. Shank
  4. Box Joint
  5. Jaws which are curved at the tip

Uses :

1. Grasping Tough Structures : used to grasp tough structures/heavy tissues like rectus sheath.

Gasping soft tissues like breast or bowel tissue.


ANKLE PROSTHESIS

Ankle prosthesis

Description :

A prosthetic component covers both the Shin bone and Talus.

Uses :

1. Transtibial Amputation : People having transtibial amputation are treated with Ankle Prosthesis. Which helps the person’s leg work symmetry and helps to reduce the cost for uphill walking.


AUSTIN MOORE PIN

Austin moore pin

Description :

Long Pin like structure made up of stainless steel has 2 nuts which are closely placed with each other at the centre of the pin.

Uses :

1. Femoral Neck fractures : Used in femoral neck fracture by inserting multiple parallel pin together.


AUSTIN MOORE PROSTHESIS

Austin moore prosthesis

Description :

A prosthetic component made up of stainless steel and has a round tip which holding the long stem.

Uses :

1. Femoral Neck fractures : We use this as a salvage prosthesis in femoral neck fractures which makes limited femoral neck above the lesser trochanter.


BIPOLAR HIP PROSTHESIS

Bipolar hip prosthesis

Description :

Made up of prothetic components and has a semi-circular tip which holds the long stem.

Uses :

1. Bipolar Hemiarthroplasty : femoral neck fractures can be treated by Bipolar prosthesis by Bipolar Hemiarthroplasty procedure.


BOHLER STIRRUP

Bohler stirrup

Description :

Made up of stainless steel and has two arms which are twisted at the distal end.

—The tips of the arms has cylindrical structure through which the Steinmann Pin gets inserted. 

Uses :

1. Forming Traction : Used to from skeletal traction.


BONE CURETTE

Bone curette

Description :

Made up of stainless steel and has a Handle and a tip.

—The tip is scoop like structure.

Uses :

1. Bone Removal Process : Bone curette is used in Bone removing from delicate areas for Biopsy, Excision and cleaning procedures.


BONE CUTTER

Bone cutter

Description :

Made up of stainless steel and has 3 parts :

  1. Body or Shaft
  2. Blades
  3. Box Joint

Uses :

1. Cutting : Used to cut the small and large pieces of bones, spicules, spines and processes of bones.

2. Moving without cutting : Used for tearing away the remaining of muscles, ligaments, and pieces of periosteum of bones.


BONE GAUGE/OSTEOTOME

Bone gauge/Osteotome

Description :

Mainly has 2 parts :

  1. PVC Handle
  2. Curved blade

Uses :

1. Used to Divide bones

2. Used to deep cut bones


BONE HOLDING FORCEPS

Bone holding forceps

Description :

Made up of stainless steel and has 3 parts :

  1. Body or Shaft
  2. Blades
  3. Screw Joint

Uses :

1. Used for compressing or grasping tissues in surgical operations, handling sterile dressings.


BONE LEVER

Bone lever

Description :

Made up of stainless steel and has mainly 3 parts :

  1. Handle
  2. Shaft
  3. Blade

Uses :

Used to Lever out the bones from depth


BONE MALLET

Bone mallet

Description :

Made up of stainless steel and has mainly 2 parts :

  1. Handle
  2. Face and Head

Uses :

1. Cutting bones with osteotome and chiesel.

2. To drive a nail into a bone.


BONE NIBBLERS

Description :

Made up of stainless steel and has body or shafts, blades and joints.

Uses :

1. Nibbling the Bones : Used for nibbling of bones.


BONE PLATE HOLDING FORCEPS

Bone plate holding Forceps

Description :

Made up of stainless steel and has two arms, Screw joint, and the two curved jaws which are bifid.

Uses :

1. Maintaining Plate position : It is used to maintain plate position through a hole in the plate.

Bone plates will slide and slip over the bone surface without any fixation.


BONE TAP

Bone tap

Description :

Made up of stainless steel and it looks like ‘T’ shaped.

Uses :

1. Channel creating : This device is used to create a threaded channel in bone for a fixation screw or prior to the insertion of a dental implant into an osteotomy.


CANCELLOUS BONE SCREW

Cancellous bone screw

Description :

This is a modified wooden screw, it is not tapered and has larger threads and a higher pitch as compared to the cortical screw.

Uses :

1. Cancellous Bone : This screw is used to form  a compression inside the bone which is required to repair a bone injury.


CHISEL

Chisel

Description :

Has mainly 2 parts :

  1. Handle
  2. The Blade which is beveled and forms sharp cutting edges

Uses :

1. used to cheap out bones

2. Used in Osteotomies


CORTICAL SCREW

Cortical screw

Description :

Made up of stainless steel and has fine threads along the shaft.

Uses :

1. Cortical Bone : This screw is used to form  a compression inside cortical bone which is required to repair a bone fractures.


CRUTCHFIELD TONGS

Crutchfield tongs

Description :

Metallic body with two arms. The two arms are twisted back and are joined by screw joint.

Uses :

1. Traction Device : Used as a traction device where the pins of this device inserted in the skull to distract and immobilize the neck.

— Use to stabilize the fractures of the cervical spine


DENHAM PIN

Denham pin

Description :

Made up of stainless steel and has screw like ridges at the middle of this pin, one end is blunt and another end is sharp and pointed.

Uses :

1. Bone Traction : Immobilizing a body parts by adding weighted equipments with directly to the patients’ bone.


DYNAMIC COMPRESSION PLATE

Dynamic compression plate

Description :

Metallic plate used in Orthopaedics for internal fixation of bone.

Uses :

1. Bone fixation : Used for fixing internal bones after fractures by forming compression.


DYNAMIC HIP SCREW

Dynamic hip screw

Description :

Orthopaedic implant.

Uses :

1. Neck of Femur Fixation : In any kind of bone injury which causes the injury of neck of femur, can be fixed by this device.


EXTERNAL FIXATION SHANS SCREW

External fixation shans screw

Description :

Made up of several screws.

Uses :

1. Stabilization of bones : Used to keep fractured bones stabilized and in alignment.

The device can be adjusted externally to ensure the bones remains in an optimal position during the healing process.

Description :

Uses :

Hip Implants : Used to restore the mobility and relieve pain usually associated with Arthritis or Severe Hip injuries.
